Peek a boo
It's been awhile. I could say I've spend this time working out and just not blogging but that wouldn't be the truth at all. As a matter of fact I feel the most out of shape than I have in a long time. I have excuses, but I will spare you those. I'm not even here to make new promises...I'm just here to say that I will be back and I will get to my goal once and for all and will be forming a healthy lifestyle for myself...again.

Yikes!
I haven't written in awhile! To be honest, there hasn't been much to write about in way of workouts :-( This week was pretty grueling for me including a blown tire on the freeway and dropping my phone in the toilet. I did take the kids I nanny to swim lessons 3 days last week and had to be in the water with the 2 yr old. I have bruises on my arms to prove that there was quite a bit of a workout involved (him grabbing onto me for dear life!). I've got to take them another 3 days this coming week...
I did get out on my bike today. I only rode for 45 mins. How did I get so wimpy??? :-p It was a nice ride :-)

Lil' cardio....lil' sculpting...
I woke up sad today...I had my coffee, checked my email and realized the thing I needed was a good workout. I didn't do any beachbody yesterday so I decided to double up today and did both cardio and sculpting. I think I'm going to get on my bike in a bit too. Nothing like sweat to put me in a better mood :-) It's a beautiful day and I don't really have anything planned so I'm going to shoot for 50 miles. It won't be as crazy out there today since it's not the weekend. It's been a little cooler the past few days too. I was almost a little chilly after my hike last night...which made me smile :-)
I just had some of my leftover pasta from last night. Unfortunately, I ate all of the shrimp last night so I might need a little more protein before my ride. Maybe some cottage cheese and blueberries...
I like the feeling of accomplishment before noon!

For the love of hiking...

Ahhh...I got out on the trails tonight. It's been awhile! When I get out there I wonder how I don't go every day! It's instant therapy for me :-) (I did 90 minutes)
Gonna keep this short. It's already after 8:00 and I'm just starting dinner. I'm making whole grain angel hair with shrimp, LOTS of garlic, diced tomatoes, sliced red bell pepper and zucchini....YUM!

100% of easy = ?
I started my workout off with KenpoX and just felt like I wasn't giving it 100%. Not sure I was even giving it 50%....so I went old school. Yup, p90 level 1/2. I gave it 100% and I hate to say this but it was probably my best workout in weeks. As I was doing it I wondered, 'How did I get in such great shape doing this workout?!?' The answer is simple...I was consistant. I also had the time and energy to do my hikes and cycling. I wrote down everything I ate...I don't remember ever feeling deprived.... Hmmmm....
So, today I get to reap the benefits of working for a dermatologist. I get to go in and get some 'fun stuff' done to my skin :-) Bring on the botox!!!
I'm going to shoot for a hike or a bike ride later. I want this week to slow down!!! (I have most of the week off...) I'll post later if I do an extra workout :-)

It's now called 'dodging cars on the 101'
I remember now why I prefer riding in the spring, fall and winter. It's not just because the heat kills me...it's because there is a HUGE chance a car could kill me. The route I like to ride takes me through a few areas where cars park and pull out without really being able to see. There's so much action going on on the streets, sidewalks, etc that it's very chaotic and makes for a stressful ride. I suppose it's multiplied during the weekend in the middle of the afternoon too. I was shooting for a 35-50 mile ride but only got 16 in. I'll take it....It's so flippin' hot out there. I did see a bunch of pictures I want to take so I'm going to shower, eat and get out there with my camera :-) Happy Sunday!

Cardio X
Just a quick post... I've been doing P90X off and on... I bought a poster board today to write it all out so I'm able to X it off each day. I'm visual...I think it will help keep me motivated :-p
I did cardio today but felt like I kind of hurried thru it. I was reading a post by one of the coaches for Beachbody saying to tune everything else out when you are doing your workout. I NEED to do that! I need to turn my phone off, turn my mind off and just do it! I need to give it 100% unlike today...
I didn't get a chance to ride today. I'd really like to get one in tomorrow!!!
